VIIth International Bioengineering Congress will be held at the Izmir Architecture Center, Turkey, between 19 – 21 November, 2015. The event will bring together the national and international researchers and entrepreneurs at the leading-edge of bioengineering to share their experiences, expose existing potential, reveal the latest developments in the field, and initiate commercially viable projects between companies and researchers. The over-arching theme of their discussions will centre on “solutions of nature for societal challenges’. Many and varied fields of bioengineering will be explored, including Biosensors, Biosimilars, Smart Materials, Microfluidics, Biomechanics and Prosthetics, DNA Origami, Theranostics, Regenerative Medicine, Assistive Technologies, Biorefinery, Bioproduction, Biotechnology, Environmental Biodesign, Bioarchitecture, Biocouture, Bioart, Entrepreneurship for Biodesign and IP in Biodesign Research, Development and Commerce. A member of the Bioengineering Congress Scientific Committee, I will be delivering a plenary speech titled “Building Brighter Futures with Biomimetics”, discussing how biodesign can help us to meet the built environment challenges of the 21st Century.
